Deepfake : Useful or Harmful?
If you haven’t heard the term Deepfake then it’s not issue, but you probably came across videos that says otherwise. Deepfake is the latest technology that enables impersonating someone in the form of videos in a way that not happen in real life.
Deepfake is so powerful that it is sometime very hard to determine whether the video is real or fake. Obviously, in the market some inappropriate content is available like some famous personality says something that easily detectable to be false. But that’s just an experimental show of Deepfake. It’s much worse if use illegally.
If you watched the above video then you can found out that somewhere it seem pretty cool to have this tech, but you also realize in subconscious that how can someone easily impersonate in today’s era.
Pornography, Political and Media industry have a larger influence over other industries for Deepfake. In these categories you can find easily fake video that for entertainment or fun may be seem cool. But in actual pretty dangerous to person that already became victim of Deepfake without his/her knowledge.

In October 2019, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed two deepfake bills into state law: AB 730 makes it illegal to circulate deepfake videos, images or audio of politicians within 60 days of an election, and AB 602 allows a victim of nonconsensual deepfake pornography to sue for damages

Facebook, twitter rigorously following Deepfake trails to avoid any controversy and to clean their platform clean from fake vague videos.
How Deepfake videos created
Deepfake connects it’s origin to AI (Artificial Intelligence) to perform outstandingly in the market. It used machine learning to train neural network models. First of all existing material used to train them like accent , gesture and voice modulation. It should be noted that idea behind all this is to make feel end user that they found some hidden breaking material on their screen.

However Deepfake explanation itself tells us that it is more inclined to harm than good. But there are certain areas where it became a boon to us. In the movie Fast & Furious 7 actor Paul walker’s remaining scenes were performed by this technology.
